Here is the plan for the Big Row, 2026:
When: September 22, 2026 through September 25, 2026
Where: Starting at White Hall, New York just above lock C8, ending at Crown Point.
Distance: 38 miles or so.
We are deciding whether to start on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. This is assuming Wednesday morning.
Daily schedule:
Tuesday, September 22: Any one who needs a place to stay is welcome at my house; we may organize a campsite nearer the launch point.
Wednesday, September 23: Launch at the White Hall public boat launch. Lock down to Lake Champlain. Row to Benson Landing, Vermont. Distance about 13.9 miles.
Thursday, September 24: Row to Fort Ticonderoga. Distance about 9 miles.
Friday, September 25: Row to Crown Point. Distance about 14 miles.
Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, September 27: participate in the reenactment at Crown Point, “Preparing for Valcour”.
